VD. House

A composition of different elements that continuously intersect: that’s the idea behind this cosy home with an unconventional design. Instead of continuing all around the house, the steel awning always stops just before the whitewashed wall. This interplay of lines creates tension between the two materials, while at the same time allowing the different living units to flow into one another.

In the house, your gaze is drawn outward, making contact with the garden from every angle, each time with a different view, a different incidence of light and a different depth.

The first floor was finished with a wooden façade cladding so as to keep the house visually as low as possible and to emphasise the ground floor with its original brick door.
